In 1990, Raffaele Cazzetta and Giorgia Marrocco decided to acquire a masseria (traditional farmhouse) with the goal of living in close communion with nature, authentically and genuinely.

The Cazzetta family, renowned in local agricultural entrepreneurship, has elevated extra virgin olive oil to a precious treasure that represents Salento worldwide. As early as 1899, Feliciano Cazzetta—Raffaele’s grandfather—initiated olive cultivation on his 300-hectare estate. Over the years and generations, this endeavor grew into one of the most esteemed international companies.
Today, Cazzetta’s extra virgin olive oil stands as a symbol of the perfect blend of tradition, quality, technique, and innovation, always rooted in a deep respect for nature.
The Marrocco family’s story is inseparably linked to Pimar, a leading company in the extraction and processing of limestone since 1880. Recognized by Unioncamere as a historic Italian enterprise for its celebration of Lecce Baroque, Pimar has left an indelible mark.
Giorgia Marrocco and her two brothers ushered in a season of continuous exploration, experimentation, and creativity—unveiling the extraordinary luminosity and malleability of this unique stone through art and design.
It is precisely from the union of the Cazzetta and Marrocco families that the desire to safeguard and share a cultural and natural treasure of refined hospitality was born: Masseria Secolario.
